Proof your letter arrived

Some letters need proof. A complaint that may go to an ombudsman, a letter before action, a tenant's notice to quit, a reply to HMRC with a deadline: if it matters that the letter arrived, it should be tracked. With printle every letter is tracked. You type it online or upload one you have written, and we print it, pack it flat in a hardbacked envelope and post it with tracking to any UK address. A one-page letter in black and white with tracked delivery costs £4.27 in total.

Tracked, Signed For and "recorded delivery": what is the difference?

"Recorded delivery" is the old name for Royal Mail Signed For, which gets a signature when the letter is delivered. Tracked services scan the letter through the network, so you can follow it and see when it was delivered. Special Delivery does both, adds a guaranteed delivery time and is the most expensive.

Royal Mail Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 are the counter prices for sending the letter yourself, checked 8 October 2026, and exclude paper, printing and an envelope. Special Delivery: Citizens Advice (stamp prices) and Mailcoms (Signed For and Special Delivery), for prices from 7 April 2026. printle's price is the live one-page black and white price with tracked delivery, and includes printing, the envelope and posting.

Do you need a signature, or is tracking enough?

For most letters, tracking is enough: it records when the letter was delivered, which is usually what you need to show it arrived before a deadline. A signature matters when a rule or a contract asks for one, or when you need to show that a named person received it. printle's letters are tracked but not signed for, so if you need a signature on delivery, use Royal Mail Signed For or Special Delivery at a Post Office.
