Postal printing,
answered

How it works, what it costs and how long it takes.

?
01What is postal printing?

Postal printing is a service where your document is printed for you and delivered by post, rather than you printing it yourself or visiting a print shop. With printle you send the document online and only the finished printed copy travels by post.

02Do I need to post my document to you?

No. You upload the file through the website, which removes the delay and cost of posting anything to us. Only the printed result is posted.

03How long does postal printing take?

Documents uploaded before 2pm on a working day are printed and dispatched the same day, with next-day delivery available across the UK.

04Can you post the printing to a different address?

Yes. The delivery address is chosen at checkout and is independent of your billing details, so the printing can go directly to someone else.

05Do you deliver to the whole UK?

Yes — every UK postcode, including the Highlands and islands. You enter the delivery address at checkout.

06How much does postal printing cost?

Printing is priced per page, with black & white the cheapest option and with colour priced higher per page. Postage is charged separately and shown at checkout before you pay, and is free on qualifying orders.

07Is postal printing cheaper than a print shop?

It removes the travel entirely, and pricing is per page with volume discounts applied automatically. Whether it works out cheaper depends on the size of the job and how far your nearest print shop is.

Postal printing

Printing by post, brought up to date

Postal printing used to mean literally posting something to a printer — a disc, a memory stick, a hard copy to be reproduced — and then waiting for both legs of the journey. The printing was quick; the post at either end was what took the week.

Only half of that journey still needs to exist. You upload the document in seconds, and the only thing that travels by post is the finished result. What used to take a week takes a day.

Who uses postal printing

It tends to be people for whom a print shop is not a realistic option. That includes anyone working away from home or based somewhere rural where the nearest print shop is a drive rather than a walk, and anyone who needs paperwork to reach a person who does not use the internet at all.

It is also the practical answer when a document simply has to exist on paper — a form that must be submitted by post, a booklet for a meeting, a large-print copy for someone who cannot read a screen comfortably.

What arrives

  • Professionally printed pages — commercial equipment, not a home inkjet.
  • Packed to arrive flat — documents are protected in transit.
  • Exactly as specified — colour, sides and copies set per file before printing.

Delivery across the UK

Delivery reaches every UK postcode, including the Highlands and islands where local printing options are thinnest. Orders placed before 2pm on a working day are dispatched the same day, and delivery choices with prices are shown at checkout before you pay.
